Re: Katrina ARES deployments

Hi Everyone;

Well, the call has come requesting volunteers to assist with communications support in Louisiana & Mississippi in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. These deployments are usually for a two week period. You should be self sufficient as food, water, sanitary facilities, fuel, etc. are limited.
I was advised that the Public Health Service has recommended that all responders to the affected area have the following inoculations before deployment:

Hep-A
Hep-B
Tetanus

If you are interested in Katrina deployment, contact me at 561 252 6707.
If you cannot reach me, contact SFL SM, Sherri Brower, W4STB at
772-562-3240
or e mail at
You will need a tracker number from the SEOC which we will assign to you.
You will be covered by insurance during your deployment & possible expense

Tnx & 73,

Jeff Beals, WA4AW
